About American Prescription Drugs

Evidence-aware guidance for navigating GLP-1 medications — without the hype, fear, or medical cosplay.

What we are

We are researchers and reviewers who read the primary sources on GLP-1 medications and the companies selling access to them, then write down what we find. We are not doctors, we do not provide medical care, and nothing on this site is medical advice.

We exist because this market is genuinely hard to navigate. Prices are advertised in ways that obscure what you will actually pay, eligibility criteria are usually hidden behind assessment funnels, and the regulatory status of compounded medication changed substantially in 2025 without most published guidance catching up.

How we research providers

Every provider review on this site follows the same process:

  1. We read the provider's own published pages — pricing, eligibility, medications, policies — and record exactly what they state.
  2. We cite the source for every factual claim. Each review ends with the pages we read and the date we read them.
  3. Where a provider does not publish something, we say so. “Not stated on the pages we reviewed” appears throughout our reviews. We do not fill gaps with estimates, and we treat an absence of disclosure as a finding.
  4. We date-stamp everything. Telehealth and manufacturer pricing both change frequently, and several manufacturer programs carry published expiry dates.

What we have not done

We have not enrolled as patients at every provider we review. That means we cannot speak to clinician quality, response times, or fulfilment reliability, and we say so in the limitations section of every review rather than implying an experience we did not have.

How we make money

We earn affiliate commissions when readers sign up with some of the providers we review. This is a real conflict of interest and we would rather name it than pretend otherwise.

Here is how we handle it:

  • We disclose it on every page where an affiliate relationship exists, at the top rather than buried in a footer.
  • We review providers we earn nothing from alongside those we do, using identical criteria. Several of our highest-rated recommendations — manufacturer pharmacies in particular — pay us nothing at all.
  • Every review lists drawbacks, including for providers we are paid by. A review with no criticism in it is an advertisement.
  • We publish findings that cost us money. When we conclude that buying direct from a manufacturer beats the subscription programs that pay us, we write that down.

Our full affiliate disclosure and earnings disclaimer set out the details.

What we will not do

  • Fabricate medical details, pricing, or pharmacy relationships. If we could not verify it, we do not publish it as fact.
  • Claim medical authority we do not have. We are not clinicians and we do not write as though we were.
  • Use fear or urgency to drive clicks. No “hidden dangers”, no “before it's too late”, no countdown timers.
  • Call anything a miracle. GLP-1 medications are effective tools with real side effects and real costs. They are not magic and they are not poison.
  • Moralise about weight. Your body is not a character judgement and we do not write as though it were.
  • Invent ratings. Our ratings reflect the written assessment above them. We do not publish aggregate ratings we did not collect.

Where our information comes from

For medication and regulatory questions, we work from primary sources: FDA publications, published clinical trial results named by trial (STEP, SURMOUNT, SURPASS), and manufacturer labelling. For provider questions, we work from the companies' own published pages.

Where evidence is genuinely uncertain, we say so. “We don't know yet” is a complete answer and we use it.

Corrections

Prices change, policies change, and we make mistakes. If you find something on this site that is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it. Contact us here.

Our promise

We will do the research, present it honestly, disclose our business model, and trust you to make your own informed decisions. Your doctor advises you. We just make sure you walk into that conversation knowing what things cost and what the evidence actually says.

🇺🇸Medical Disclaimer

We're not doctors. Nothing on this site is medical advice. GLP-1 medications are prescription drugs that require physician oversight and are not appropriate for everyone. We provide research-based information to help you have better-informed conversations with your healthcare provider — not to replace them. Read our full medical disclaimer.
