Overview

Walgreens separates the clinician visit from the medication bill. Its current weight-management page advertises visits starting at $49 with no subscription, alongside manufacturer savings offers and a distinct Medicare pathway. That structure is useful to compare, but it does not establish the cheapest annual cost for every patient or the number of visits a person will need.

We refreshed this review on October 15, 2026 using Walgreens’ current offer and Medicare’s program information. The update replaces expired price language and earlier gaps about state availability with the present public record. We did not book care, process insurance or buy medication. This publication’s CoreAge promotion remains separate from our assessment of Walgreens.

The visit fee and pharmacy price are separate

The Walgreens page lists initial visits starting at $49 and follow-up chat or additional video visits at $49 each. Medication is extra. It also describes follow-ups during the early months, with timing depending on treatment and individual need. No subscription does not mean no continuing clinical expense. The cost guide helps separate visit frequency, medication charges and benefit restrictions before comparing an annual total.

Read the current savings terms for the selected product

Walgreens’ pricing table and footnotes distinguish commercially insured savings from self-pay offers. The Wegovy tablet listing now shows a $149 starting price with higher strengths priced at $199 or $299; the earlier August introductory wording is no longer the basis for this review. These are conditional manufacturer offers described by Walgreens, not a guaranteed pharmacy quote. Product, strength, coverage and current program terms determine the applicable price.

Introductory injection prices have a later rate

The same public offer describes eligible new self-pay Wegovy injection patients paying $199 for their first two qualifying fills, then $349 for subsequent fills, with the stated introductory offer running through December 31, 2026. Other listed medicines have different prices and refill conditions. A single starting figure cannot be carried across those offers. Compare the exact medicine and payment pathway, using the medication comparison for context rather than treating different products as interchangeable.

The service now publishes state exclusions

The current Walgreens footnotes say its standard weight-management service is available in all US states except Alabama and Louisiana. Its Medicare visit pathway has a longer exclusion list: Alabama, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Rhode Island and West Virginia. These are provider-published service limits at our check. They are distinct from whether a pharmacy participates in the nationwide Bridge program or a patient meets its clinical rules.

Medicare Bridge is separate from a savings card

CMS describes the Bridge as a temporary program outside regular Part D coverage and payment flow, with a $50 eligible drug copay. Medicare supplies coverage criteria, product restrictions and authorization requirements. Walgreens’ promotion of that program does not mean every Medicare patient or existing prescription qualifies. The Amazon Pharmacy review examines another participating-pharmacy pathway, without treating a pharmacy’s participation as a personal eligibility decision.

Bring the medication history into the clinical visit

The Walgreens care description says a doctor or nurse practitioner reviews medical history and determines whether treatment is appropriate. It now discusses eligibility factors, while still making prescriptions conditional on assessment. Our medication-list guide explains how to prepare a complete record. Clarify laboratory costs, follow-up contact and visit cancellation or refund terms before booking; the public offer does not settle every detail of an individual care agreement.

What We Like

Separate visit and medication charges

The page identifies the $49 visit model and makes clear that medication is additional.

More specific current disclosures

Published footnotes distinguish state availability, strengths, introductory fills and later prices.

What We'd Improve

Follow-up costs depend on use

A visit-based model requires estimating the clinical contact actually needed, without assuming a fixed number.

Offer conditions can change the total

Savings-card eligibility, strengths, refill timing and program rules affect the medication bill.

Who It May Be Best For

Worth considering if you:

  • •Comparing a visit-based care model with a separate pharmacy payment pathway

Probably not if you:

  • •Assuming the starting visit fee includes medication or unlimited clinical contact

Limitations of This Review

  • •No clinical visit, insurance submission, authorization or delivery was tested.
  • •The selected agreement and pharmacy quote can differ from a general starting offer.

Alternatives

Our Verdict

Walgreens provides a documented visit-based option, with medication paid separately. The refreshed public record is more specific about eligibility and state coverage than the earlier review, but cost comparisons still require the actual care frequency, prescribed product and payment terms.
