You pay $49 for an initial video visit with a clinician, $49 for any follow-up chat or video visit you need, and nothing at all in the months you do not need one. Medication is billed separately at manufacturer self-pay rates.
For anyone who already knows they want an FDA-approved GLP-1 and simply needs a prescriber, this is the cheapest legitimate route we have found. Every telehealth competitor charges $19.99 to $149 every month whether you use them or not. Walgreens charges only when you actually see someone.
It is also the best disclosure in this market, and it is not close. Walgreens publishes not just the introductory price for every manufacturer offer but what each one becomes afterward — including the Wegovy injectable rising to $349 and Zepbound KwikPens ranging $399 to $449. Our Verdict
Walgreens Weight Management is the best-value route to an FDA-approved GLP-1 we have reviewed, and the reason is structural rather than promotional. Removing the subscription removes the single largest recurring cost that telehealth platforms add — and for someone on a stable maintenance dose who needs a prescriber twice a year, paying $98 rather than $948 is not a marginal difference.
The disclosure deserves particular credit. Walgreens publishes what happens after every manufacturer offer expires — the $349 Wegovy injectable, the $299 Wegovy pill, the $399–$449 Zepbound KwikPens — and Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly do not publish those figures on their own patient-facing pages. When a retailer is more forthcoming about a manufacturer's pricing than the manufacturer, that is worth saying out loud.
The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program at $50/month is the other standout. Government-insured patients are shut out of most of this market for commercial rather than clinical reasons, and a mainstream pharmacy chain offering them a route matters more than another $99 compounded offer.
The trade-offs are real but narrow: $49 per visit punishes anyone needing frequent contact, there is no compounded fallback, and almost every price expires within months.
